What´s OSL Crowdmap?
Open Social Learning Crowdmap is the final thesis of the master, "Education and communication in the network: the information society to the knowledge society", which aims to explore the potential applications of geolocation of mobile devices to build a Crowdmap. To do this, we considered the Ushahidi platform Crowdmap as the right tool to achieve geolocate the object of study, in this case, those spaces for action and entities (PPPP), that use digital technology as a resource to offer a LEARNING (focusing on the learner), SOCIAL (co-creation and collective use of knowledge) and OPEN (based in the reusability of the learning object). These new organizations co-create, collaborate, build alternatives roads to bring about real change in the way we learn, to innovate, to work, to enjoy, to live...
Why OSL Crowdmap?
Technological change caused by the tools of Web 2.0 has also generated a cultural and educational change, which has led to the emergence of communities of interest and informal learning. Those initiatives are spontaneous, open to the participation of the whole community, allowing the attention to diversity and provide today, educational inclusion opportunities in the information society.
The geolocation apps for mobile devices make possible the construction of crowdmaps that favor the display, diffusion, communication and interaction among groups with common interests, placing them in space and time.
OSL Crowdmap could be an ideal tool for the diffusion of knowledge, both for those who don´t know the subject and those who are already involved in it. Also, could allow visualization of change and open innovation processes (geolocated in space and time) and could facilitate communication and interaction between communities and persons.
I am a B. A. student and researcher from the south of Spain and I´m interested in exploring issues related to learning and digital technologies. I am a graduate in psychology and pedagogy, but for years I worked to the logistics sector (with specialized training in both fields). I love challenges, new projects and teamwork. At the moment, my greatest challenge is to reconcile a hybrid lifestyle between city and countryside, along with my passion for traveling and learning about other cultures. I think that learn, work, enjoy and live ubiquitously now is possible, thanks to new digital technologies and especially, thanks to the efforts of many people, that everyday build alternative ways ... Let´s walk together!!!
